4 alleged fake dentists arrested in Butuan City

Four suspects who were allegedly performing tooth extractions on patients despite not having dental medicine licenses nor permits to operate were arrested during a raid in Butuan City, according to a Sunday report on GMA News TV Live.

Residents had tipped authorities off on the alleged fake dentists.

Philippine Dental Association officials joined police officers on the raid, in which the four suspects were arrested and medicines and equipment for dental services were seized.

The suspects were in the custody of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and faced charges over the illegal practice of dentistry and violation of the Philippine Dental Act of 2007. — Joviland Rita/DVM, GMA News
