Priest blesses homes in Calamba, Laguna amid COVID-19 threat


Undeterred by the threat of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID), a priest went out and blessed houses in Calamba, Laguna.

A video shared by netizen Marie Magpantay shows their resident priest, Father Eugene Fadul from San Isidro Labrador Parish - Makiling, roaming the streets and stopping at houses to give blessings.

Marie expressed gratitude to the priest for braving the heat and the threat of the virus to bless their area.

As of March 28, the province of Laguna has tallied 17 cases of COVID-19.

The municipal government of Los Baños earlier confirmed that the town's first COVID-19 case died on March 21.

Meanwhile, a total lockdown was implemented in eight towns in Laguna on March 26.

The Philippines has so far recorded 3,660 cases, 163 deaths, and 73 recoveries.

The enhanced community quarantine imposed on Luzon has also been extended to April 30.
