Residents of Hagonoy, Bulacan receive kilos of bangus for COVID-19 relief

Residents of Hagonoy, Bulacan receive fresh bangus as part of its government relief operations amid the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.

On Facebook, Thursday, Councilor Jey-R Manlapaz shared that the local government unit hopes to give each family in San Pascual, Sta. Cruz, San Roque, San Nicolas, Tampok, Sta. Monica and San Sebastian its share of bangus in the coming days.

To promote social distancing, officials can be seen leaving containers filled with bangus on the doorsteps of the houses they pass by.

Sharing photos of the tons of bangus being placed into containers, Manlapaz shared, "Unang Araw ng Pamamahagi ng Bangus sa bawat pamilya na mga kababayan natin...Maraming Salamat po muli sa mga nagpahiram ng truck sa Pamahalaang Bayan ng Hagonoy."

Local government units have been giving their residents relief goods since strict home quarantine and suspension of public transportation have been imposed to contain the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Due to the quarantine, over 1.2 million workers are estimated to have temporarily lost their jobs.
