The province of Camarines Norte has remained untouched by the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), its governor said Monday.

Interviewed on Dobol B sa News TV, Governor Egay Tallado said the provincial government has set up checkpoints at the boundaries of the province in order to prevent anyone infected from entering the province.

“Bale noong nag-announce si President [Rodrigo] Duterte ng enhanced community quarantine, kaagad pong naglagay ng mga checkpoint sa boundaries and hinigpitan lahat ng papasok at lalabas,” Tallado said.

“Talagang kinukuhanan ng temperature [ang mga pumapasok],” he added.

Talledo said those who enter the province are required to undergo a 14-day quarantine.

The enhanced community quarantine covering the entire Luzon was declared on March 17 and will last until April 30.

Tallado said the distribution of the financial aid under the national government’s social amelioration program will be completed within the week.

“Ngayong linggo, 100 percent distributed na sa mga bibigyan,” he said.

Camarines Norte's neighbors Quezon and Camarines Sur meanwhile have 43 and four COVID-19 cases, respectively, as of Saturday.

Nationwide, the number of COVID-19 cases was at 6,259 as of Sunday, including 409 deaths and 572 recoveries. --Ma. Angelica Garcia/KBK, GMA News
