76-year-old lola, hospital staff sing, dance to Guns 'n Roses after COVID-19 recovery
A 76-year-old woman in Biñan, Laguna has won her battle against the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
To celebrate her recovery, the staff of Ospital ng Biñan sent her off with the song “Sweet Child O' Mine” by Guns n’ Roses.
According to Bernadette Reyes’ Wednesday report on “24 Oras,” the woman was released after 21 days of battling the respiratory illness.
In the video, the woman can be seen swaying her arms and clapping while the hospital staff danced, clapped and sang.
The woman also became emotional as she thanked all the doctors and nurses for helping her recover.
“Ako po’y nagpapasalamat sa inyong lahat sa naitulong niyo sa akin. Maraming maraming salamat,” she said.
Anne Rivera-Dionisio, one of the nurses at Ospital ng Biñan, said the woman’s vibe after her recovery was way different from when she was first brought to the facility.
“Mahina po siya. May pneumonia po siya noong dumating dito tapos nabigyan lang po ng tamang gamot at naalagaan ng mga doktor,” Dionisio said.
She added she was glad they were able to help the woman recover despite their hospital being a small facility.
“Nakaktuwa lang po na kahit maliit lang ‘yong ospital namin, isang government hospital na ‘di ganoon kakumpletong pasilidad, nakakapagpagaling po kami ng ganitong klaseng sakit,” Dionisio said.
Biñan has so far reported 24 confirmed cases of COVID-19, including five fatalities and seven recoveries.
Nationwide, cases of COVID-19 reached 6,710 with 446 deaths and 693 recoveries. -Ma. Angelica Garcia/NB, GMA News
