‘Calibrated’ quarantine to be enforced in Cavite starting May 1 —governor
Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla on Tuesday bared that a "calibrated" quarantine would be enforced in the province beginning May 1.
In a Facebook post, Remulla explained that in the calibrated quarantine, 24-hour curfew would be enforced except for frontliners, food handlers, bank employees, those involved in other financial services and relief operations.
Remulla said quarantine pass holders would be allowed to go out until 6 p.m. only.
Remulla said business establishments, offering food delivery and service, gas stations and other financial services, would remain open.
Security operations will also be intensified so that the public will be forced to stay at home, especially the senior citizens, Remulla said.
"Bawal na po ang nakatayo sa harap ng bahay kung walang quarantine pass. Pwede po sa loob ng bakuran pero pag kalye na ay pwede na kayo masita o arestuhin ng PNP," Remulla said.
"Pag nagala sa lansangan at walang quarantine pass ay automatic arrest order," he added.
Leisure activities such as jogging, walking and zumba exercise will also be prohibited.
Remulla also said mandatory wearing of face masks will be strictly enforced.
According to the governor, the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) will remain under control of the national government.
"All employees are required to bring IDs at all times, especially when going to and from work," Remulla said.
Remulla said the calibrated quarantine would be enforced until May 15 or depending on the directive of the national government.
The government has extended the enhanced community quarantine in the National Capital Region, CALABARZON, Central Luzon except Aurora, Pangasinan, Benguet, Baguio City, Iloilo and Cebu provinces, Cebu City, and Davao City until May 15.
Other areas will be placed under general community quarantine by May 1. —LDF, GMA News
