Floating market serves residents of remote barangay in Apalit amid ECQ

Residents of remote Barangay Capalangan in Apalit, Pampanga need not travel far to the town's public market to buy their basic food needs —floating market has it all for them.

Set up in a part of the Pampanga River bank in the barangay, and opens every Tuesday and Thursday, the floating market offers meat, eggs, vegetables, fruits, and other basic food items.

Launched in the barangay in late April, the floating market was intended to limit the movements of Capalangan residents, in Apalit town's effort to help stem the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019, while the whole of Luzon was under enhanced community quarantine. —with a report from Danny Pata/LBG, GMA News
