Zamboanga City reports 21 new COVID-19 cases, all at city jail

Zamboanga City on Tuesday reported 21 new cases of COVID-19, all coming from the Zamboanga City Jail.

The Department of Health Region IX said that of the 21 additional cases, 16 were inmates while five were Bureau of Jail Management and Penology employees, according to a 24 Oras News Alert.

More than 60 female inmates will be transferred to an isolation facility on Wednesday to separate them from those infected with COVID-19.

There are now a total of 95 COVID-19 cases in Zamboanga City.
