7 drug suspects killed in separate police ops in GenSan, Laguna, Nueva Ecija

Seven drug suspects were killed in separate police operations in General Santos City, Laguna and Nueva Ecija, according to an Unang Balita report on Tuesday.

In General Santos City, authorities seized from the slain suspects firearms, ammunition, hand grenades, and several sachets of suspected shabu.

Police said the suspects were killed when they resisted arrest and shot it out with the arresting policemen, although a witness claimed one suspect was already in police custody when the alleged shootout happened.

In Sta. Rosa, Laguna, an alleged big-time drug suspect and hired killer identified as Dennis Caratihan was killed when he fired at arresting police officers. Seized from him were 13 sachets of shabu and a firearm.

The report said Caratihan was previously arrested and detained over drug charges.

In Lupao, Nueva Ecija, another drug suspect, identified as Paolo Padilla, was killed in a buy-bust operation. The suspect allegedly fired at the policemen when he learned that they were only posing as buyers.

Seized from Padilla were 14 sachets of shabu and a gun. --KBK, GMA News
