Female driver stabbing victim Jang Lucero laid to rest

Jang Lucero, the female driver who rented out her car and was stabbed to death in Laguna, has been laid to rest.

"Mahal na mahal kita," one of her loved ones cried in front of her sealed tomb, as seen in a video shown on Monday on GMA News' Unang Balita.

Her relatives cried out for justice.

Police are still gathering evidence regarding the crime.

Lucero's body was found inside her car on Sunday, June 28, on Bypass Road in Calamba. Her body bore 52 stab wounds.

According to Lucero's girlfriend Meyah Amatorio, Lucero said she will drive three passengers from Laguna to Gil Puyat in Metro Manila that night. Amatorio called her after a few hours but Lucero was no longer answering her call.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Gene Licud, chief of the Calamba Police Station, on Saturday said they have already a lead on those who may have had a hand in the crime.

He added that both Lucero and Amatorio knew the said persons personally.

Licud urged the persons who were behind the crime to surrender to police even as he said they are still preparing their complaint to be filed before the prosecutor. —KG, GMA News
