Passenger ship stranded off Ormoc - report

Several passengers heading for Cebu from Ormoc in Leyte were stranded Wednesday afternoon after the boat encountered engine trouble shortly after leaving port at noon Wednesday. Radio dzBB reported that M/V Heaven Star stalled 10 miles off Ormoc after its engines conked out. The crew said seawater might have mixed with the engine's fuel. It was not immediately clear how many passengers were on board the vessel when it was stranded. Robles Shipping, which owns the M/V Heaven Star, said it sent another boat, the M/V Wonderful Star, to rescue the passengers, but the ship may take four hours to reach the stalled ship. - GMANews.TV
