Retired police official shot dead in Panglao


TAGBILARAN CITY- A retired police official was reportedly ambushed by men riding-in-tandem in Panglao town Friday morning.

Corporal Chito Jerome Galua, investigator at Panglao Police Station, identified the victim as Ramon Arboleras Bolongaita, a retired member of the Philippine National Police and a resident of Barangay Bil-isan in Panglao town.

Bolongaita was on his pedal bike when shot by two men on a motorcycle at Purok 3 in Sito Valenzuela in  Barangay Poblacion in Panglao at 6:20  a.m., Galua said.

Bolongaita suffered gunshot wounds in his head, resulting in his immediate death.

Galua said a witness saw the suspects  who were wearing hooded jackets who  fled towards the direction of Barangay Looc.

Bolongaita's last assignment before his retirement was at the Regional Personnel Holding and Accounting Unit at Police Regional Office in Cebu City.
