Bohol province records 23 new COVID-19 cases
TAGBILARAN CITY- Bohol has recorded 23 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) infections on Tuesday, a record high for the province since the pandemic began.
According to Bohol Governor Arthur Yap, on his Facebook page on Tuesday night, the new patients came from the towns of Talibon, Bien Unido and Buenavista.
At least 15 got infected in Talibon town, 13 from Guindacpan Island, one each from barangays San Jose and San Roque.
Five patients came from Bien Unido---four from Malingin Island and one local stranded in Barangay Estrella.
In Barangay Puting Bato in Buenavista town, three patients got infected.
The new patients had no travel history, they are not considered locally stranded individuals nor a returning overseas Filipino workers.
The islands of Malingin and Guindacpan are still in lockdown due to the surge of cases.
Relief goods were sent to residents from their respective local government units and from Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) in Central Visayas.
Bohol 2nd district Rep. Erico Aristotle Aumentado sent gallons of mineral water to island residents since water is an expensive and valuable resource there.
As of Tuesday, August 25, Bohol has a total number of 167 infections, 53 of which are active cases, 107 recoveries and seven fatalities. -- BAP, GMA News
