Tuguegarao City reverts to stricter MECQ due to COVID-19 cases


Cagayan province's capital Tuguegarao City will be reverted to a stricter modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) status for nine days due to COVID-19 cases.

"Unang Balita" reported Wednesday that the Regional Inter-Agency Task Force had decided to place the city under MECQ from August 26 to September 4, 2020.

Among prohibited activities under the quarantine status are: public transport and dine-in restaurants. 

Pillion riding is allowed provided they are members of one household.

Liquor ban will be enforced during the 9-day MECQ period. 

Strict curfew hours from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. will also be enforced the report said.

As of August 25, the city has recorded 25 active COVID-19 cases, and one dead. —LBG, GMA News
