4 people killed in Moalboal, Cebu fire —BFP

Four people were killed in a fire that broke out before dawn Sunday in Moalboal town in Cebu province.

Quoting Moalboal Fire Officer 2 Gibson Hortelano, GMA News Cebu's Charlie Hera reported that the fire in Barangay Walog Balabagon left four members of the Mansuela family dead.

Hortelano identified the fatalities as Jonathan Mansuela, 38, father; Rose, 38, mother; and children Dyren, 14, and Jethro, 12.

Jove John Mansuela, 16, who is supposed to celebrate his birthday this Sunday, is the lone survivor of the fire that reached the first alarm.

The report said Jove was sleeping alone in his room when the fire broke out, and he was able to escape through the window.

Moalboal BFP initially estimated  the fire's damage to property at P15,000.

BFP officials are still investigating the cause of the fire.  —LBG, GMA News
