One died while nine others were injured after a 10-wheeler truck lost control and plowed through several tricycles, private vehicles, and a motorcycle along Olalia Road, Barangay Santa Cruz in Antipolo City.

According to Jamie Santos’ report on “24 Oras,” the victim has not yet been identified.

Meanwhile, seven of the injured individuals were brought to the Rizal Provincial Hospital Annex 1, one was brought to the Antipolo City Hospital Annex 1, and one was brought to the Metro Antipolo Hospital.

The truck was carrying sacks of rice from Isabela and was on its way to Boso-Boso, Rizal. The driver said he suddenly lost control of the vehicle.

“Basta na-kwan, may suminga ho na hangin, ‘yun nawalan na. Tas ‘yun diretsyo na. Humihingi ako ng kwan ng tawad sa kanila,” the driver said.

A photo taken by GMA News showed several individuals lying on the ground after the encounter, some of whom were thrown after they were run over by the truck.

Another victim said he was surprised after feeling that his vehicle somewhat flew.

Another one revealed that she went under a tricycle, causing her injuries.

-Joahna Lei Casilao/NB, GMA News
