Bacolod reports 10 new COVID-19 fatalities; total at 105


The number of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) related deaths in Bacolod City climbed to 105 on Saturday with 10 new fatalities, according to data from the Department of Health (DOH) Region 6.

According to Bam Alegre’s report on “24 Oras News Alert,” the city reported a total of 4,332 cases, 867 of which are still undergoing treatment.

Bacolod has reported the highest number of cases in the Western Visayas.

Meanwhile, 3,360 residents have recovered.

In Negros Occidental, 72 more individuals have tested positive for the illness, bringing the total case count to 3,417.

DOH-Region 6 explained that these new cases were local transmissions.

Meanwhile, a total of 2,113 patients have recovered, 1,244 are still undergoing treatment, while 60 have succumbed to the illness.

The Negros Occidental figures are separate from the COVID-19 cases in Bacolod.

Iligan City meanwhile announced 13 new COVID-19 cases, including four frontliners and a 5-month-old newborn, according to another report on “24 Oras News Alert.”

Based on data from the City Health Office, this brings the total confirmed cases in the city to 755, of which 63 are still undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, 650 patients in the city have recovered while 42 have died. — DVM, GMA News
