Quarantine passes no longer needed when entering malls in Cavite
Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla on Wednesday announced that quarantine passes are no longer required when entering malls in the province.
In a Facebook post, Remulla said the visits of Cavite residents in malls would be limited to three hours. Mall visitors also need to present an identification card to verify their age.
"Puwede na magliwaliw. Just present an official government or school ID showing the ages 15-65 years old. Ngunit may 3-hour limit tayong ibibigay," Remulla said.
"Mag-ingat ng husto sa paglibot. Wear a mask, face shield, frequently wash and sanitize your hands. Most importantly, continue maintaining social distancing protocols," he added.
Remulla also said curfew remains from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. but he said frontline workers remain exempted from the said curfew hours.
"We are not out of the woods yet. Tag-ulan pa ngayon at mas mabilis ang pagkalat ng COVID. As usual exempted ang galing sa trabaho basta magpakita lang ng official HR designation showing duty hours. Exempted rin ang mga frontliners at iba pang officials," Remulla said.
Remulla also said cockfighting is still prohibited in the province.
"Ang sabungan ay 'super spreader' and COVID-19 hotspot. Kaya't pag-aaralan muna namin nang maigi ang paggawa ng bagong patakaran bago tayo pumayag dito," he explained.
"Maliban doon, ay wala sa konsensya ko na ang simbahan ay 50% lang ang puwede ngunit ang sabungan ay walang limit. Give us time to study it and we will come up with a comprehensive guideline for cockfighting venues," he added.
Remulla said number coding within the province is suspended.
For interzonal travel, Remulla advised the residents to check the policies of the towns and municipalities that they intend to visit.
On Tuesday, Cavite had 86 new COVID-19 cases to tie with Quezon City for the highest number of new infections for the day.
The Department of Health said the total number of COVID-19 cases reached 360,775 on Tuesday. Of this number, 310,642 recovered while 6,690 died. —Anna Felicia Bajo/KG, GMA News
