A former New People's Army (NPA) member wanted for murder and frustrated murder in Negros Occidental was arrested by authorities on Friday, the Philippine National Police (PNP) reported Saturday.

In a statement, the PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group-Visayas Field Unit (AKG-VFU) identified the suspect as Nory Solinap, a former member of the NPA Guerilla platoon under the Roselyn Jean Pelle Command in the northern Negros and the third most wanted person in Victorias City.

By virtue of a warrant of arrest, Solinap was nabbed at about 5:30 p.m. at Brgy. Ma-oa, Bago City by AKG-VFU operatives led by VFU Chief Police Colonel Salvador Alacyang, together with the AKG- Bacolod Team, 6SAB PNP-SAF and Bago City Police Station.

Solinap had previously surrendered and availed of the government's Balik-Loob program.

But after returning to the communist movement, the suspect was actively involved in a series of robbery/hold-up, gun for hire and robbery extortion activities in Ma-ao, Victorias, Silay, and Enrique B. Magalona in Negros Occidental as well as nearby provinces.

Recovered from the suspect was one (1) 1911 Cal. 45 pistol loaded with one magazine with ammunition, three (3) magazines for cal. 45, seventeen (17) live ammunition for cal. 45  and two (2) live  fragmentation grenade.

The PNP AKG said the suspect was monitored to have transferred from one place to another and to his present location.
