More sinkholes spotted in Batangas

Several sinkholes were spotted in Agoncillo, Batangas, following the wrath of Super Typhoon Rolly (international name: Goni).

According to a report on GMA's "24 Oras Weekend," the sinkholes' depth were over the average person's height, said to have been caused by exposure to water, but have since been covered by soil. No further details were given in the report.

Sinkholes and large cracks in the ground were previously discovered in another Batangas town, Lemery, after the typhoon.

Sinkholes were also reported in the towns of Tanawan, San Nicolas, Talisay, and Taal, following the Taal eruption earlier this year.

Super Typhoon Rolly, reported as the strongest storm of 2020 so far, hit several parts of the country, leaving over P8 billion worth of damage. — Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/BM, GMA News
