Person of interest in indiscriminate firing incident ID'd –Lanao Norte PNP
Authorities on Saturday identified a person of interest in an indiscriminate firing incident in Lanao del Norte during New Year's Eve, which resulted in the death of a 12-year-old girl.
In a Super Radyo DZBB interview, Lanao del Norte Police Provincial Office officer-in-charge Police Colonel Isaias Bacurnay said the person of interest was identified by the relatives of victim Suzette Abrigando.
The suspect's being a resident of Barangay Poblacion where the incident happened, led authorities to further consider him as a person of interest.
Bacurnay said the person cooperated with authorities and expressed willingness to undergo a paraffin and ballistic test.
Authorities are conducting a cross-matching after they recovered a .45 pistol from the person of interest.
A .45 mm slug was recovered in the autopsy test of the victim, Bacurnay said.
