Bgy. Guadalupe in Cebu City to be under lockdown on Sundays due to COVID-19


Local authorities will place Barangay Guadalupe in Cebu City under lockdown every Sunday starting Jan. 24 due to the threat of COVID-19.

The order was given based on separate barangay resolutions, according to a report by Bam Alegre on 24 Oras News Alert on Saturday.

Forty-seven COVID-19 cases have been reported in Barangay Guadalupe.

With the lockdown, residents will not be allowed to go out of their homes unless for emergency or important business, or they are health workers or authorized persons outside residence (APOR).

Public transportation will remain available.

Businesses except for drugstores will be closed on Sundays.

No date has been set for the lifting of the Sunday lockdown.

As of Jan. 22, data from the Department of Health Region VII showed 11,634 confirmed COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Cebu City.

Of this number, 749 are active, 10,234 have recovered, while 701 died.

Cebu City is under modified general community quarantine until Jan. 31. —KG, GMA News
