Former cop killed in Batangas raid —police

An ex-police officer was killed in a raid in Lipa City, Batangas in southern Luzon, according to police operatives.

Citing police information, GMA News’ John Consulta on “Unang Balita” identified the slain suspect as Anthony Glua Cubos, a former cop who had gone on AWOL since 2019.

Cubos was killed inside his house, shooting it out with members of a team that was supposed to serve a warrant for his arrest.

Authorities said the incident took place at Cubos' residence in Barangay San Francisco, Lipa City.

Based on police information, Cubos was a suspect in the robbery and murder incident involving a rider in Metro Manila’s Valenzuela City in October 2020.

A police informer told GMA News that Cubos had set up the “Cubos" crime gang in Batangas as he was hiding from the law following the Valenzuela robbery-murder incident.

Recovered from Cubos were a caliber 45 hand gun and illegal drugs estimated at P170,000. —LBG, GMA News
