Isabela capital places 22 barangays under lockdown amid COVID-19 cases surge
The local government of Ilagan, Isabela has placed 22 of its barangays under a 10-day lockdown amid in surge in COVID-19 cases.
A News TV Live report on Saturday said the lockdown started last Holy Thursday and will run through April 10, during which time disinfection and contact tracing will be carried out.
The barangays were placed under a lockdown following a report from the OCTA Research that Isabela was among the 10 regions and provinces with the highest number of COVID-19 cases as of April.
Essential goods from outside the barangays will only be allowed up to the border, and from there barangays officials will b e the one to distribute the goods to their constituents.
A liquor ban and a curfew from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. have also been put in place.
The Ilagan Public Market, meanwhile, will be only open for essential goods and is only allowed to accomodate 200 people. -MDM, GMA News
