Second Bukidnon priest dies due to COVID-19 - report
A second Catholic priest has died due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the diocese of Malaybalay in Bukidnon province, according to a report posted on the Catholic Bishop's Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) website.
Fr. Pablo Salengua, 67, passed away while confined in a hospital in Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental.
He was the parish priest of the Sts. Peter and Paul church in Dalirig, Manolo Fortich in the province Bukidnon.
In a statement, the Malaybalay Diocese "enjoins everyone to pray for the repose of his soul.”
Earlier this week, the same diocese reported the death of 61-year old Fr. Diomedes Brigoli due to illness related to COVID-19 last May 1.
Meanwhile, the Malaybalay bishop's residence has been placed under lockdown from May 2 up to May 6, 2021.
All the personnel underwent the rapid antigen test and all were found to be negative for the virus that causes COVID-19. -- BAP, GMA News
