Soldiers' vehicle ambushed in Mati City, Davao Oriental

A vehicle of the Philippine Army's 66th Infantry Battalion was ambushed on Sunday morning in Mati City, Davao Oriental.

The incident occurred past 8 a.m., according to a report by Super Radyo Davao reporter John Ryan Calonia on Super Radyo dzBB.

According to the Davao Oriental Police Provincial Office, the ambush took place in Sitio Tagawisan in Barangay Badas.

Following the incident, authorities temporarily closed the National Highway to motorists going to Davao City.

Clearing operations are ongoing at the site as of posting time.
