28 hurt in ferry mishap off Bohol - report

At least 28 people were injured after a passenger ferry collided with a barge off Tagbilaran City in Bohol province Saturday night. Visayas-based Bombo Radyo reported before dawn Sunday that the Philippine Coast Guard rescued the 28 passengers who were brought to hospitals in the city, after suffering minor injuries from the mishap. Tagbilaran police director Chief Insp. Jacinto Cesar said the passenger vessel “Ocean Jet" was sailing from Cebu when it hit the barge anchored in Tagbilaran at about 8:15 p.m. Saturday. Cesar cited initial information reaching him that the incident happened after the captain of the “Ocean Jet" failed to notice the barge.
