Videoke banned in Cavite 24/7

The provincial government of Cavite has banned the use of videoke, karaoke, and other loud audio devices at any time of the day.

According to Jun Veneracion's report on "24 Oras" on Wednesday, Governor Jonvic Remulla previously limited the use of videoke in the province to between 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

However, Remulla ordered the total ban to help students focus on their online classes.

"Para bigyang daan 'yong mga estudyante natin na makapag-aral ng maayos online. Once we receive any complaint na gumagamit ng videoke, we will respond accordingly," Cavite Police director Police Colonel Marlon Santos said.

From July 8 to 13, local authorities already reprimanded 201 residents regarding the use of karaoke in the province.

Authorities said residents will have to pay a P500 fine on the second offense, and P1,000 on the third offense. Residents who violate the ordinance can also be imprisoned. -Ma. Angelica Garcia/MDM, GMA News
