Doctor who owns hospital killed while jogging in Cotabato

COTABATO City - A doctor who also owned a hospital was shot dead on Friday morning by unidentified suspects while he was jogging in downtown Pikit, North Cotabato.

The victim was identified as Dr. Robert Cadulong, Al Haj, a retired municipal health doctor from the towns of Pagalungan and Datu Montawal, Maguindanao before he built his own hospital in Pikit.

Police said the incident took place around 5:45 a.m.

Manhunt operations for the suspects are ongoing.

Several slugs of a caliber .45 pistol were seen scattered at the crime scene.

Dr. Kadil Sinolinding, former health minister of Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and also a hospital operator in nearby Kabacan town, has called for justice for Cadulong. 

“Justice for our health comrade Dr. Robert Cadulong. Inna Lillahi wa Inna Ilayhi Rajion," he said.

Sinolinding added that the incident must be investigated thoroughly as killing has become rampant in that town. 

“Let the NBI and PNP conduct a deeper investigation,” Sinolinding posted on his Facebook account.

A few days before the shooting, a member of the Citizens Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) was killed while two military intelligence agents were also ambushed in the said town. —KG, GMA News
