Magnitude 5.1 hits off the coast of Tarragona, Davao Oriental

A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck off the coast of Tarragona, Davao Oriental early Friday morning, PHIVOLCS reported.

The quake, which occurred at 4:28 a.m. in a depth of 13 kilometers, was tectonic in origin.

There are no damages or aftershocks expected, PHIVOLCS said.

Earlier, a magnitude 5.3 quake with a depth of 15 kilometers and tectonic in origin occurred at 4:17 a.m. in almost the same area . -- BAP, GMA News
