Tagbilaran gov't opens drive-through vaccination program
TAGBILARAN CITY – At least 150 individuals were inoculated during a drive-through vaccination in this city on Saturday, the first in Bohol province.
The city government of Tagbilaran has opened its first drive-through site at the city hall compound to accommodate tricycle drivers and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs). Walk-in residents were also accommodated.
Those who lined up at the site received their first dose of Sinovac vaccine while others received the single-dose J&J Janssen COVID-19 vaccine.
One of the recipients who availed the drive-thru vaccination was Sherwin Palado, 37, a resident of Tamblot Street, Barangay Cogon, Tagbilaran City.
He said the drive-through vaccination process was quick and fast.
Dr. Jeia Pondoc, city health officer, administered the COVID-19 jabs. She said the vaccination of residents is expected to speed up, especially that vaccines are still available.
Pondoc added that at least 40,000 residents have been fully inoculated out of the target adult population of 60,000.
Mayor John Geesnell Yap II is encouraging residents to get vaccinated, saying that it is the best thing to do to achieve a COVID-free environment.
