Police say Bikoy Advincula responsible for deaths of 3 in Albay

The Police Regional Office V on Sunday said it was ex-whistleblower Peter Joemel "Bikoy" Advincula who was responsible for the deaths of three political personalities whose bodies were found in his rented establishment in Daraga, Albay on November 12.

“The DMPS have convinced the legal body/court base on the facts and circumstances and evidences collected by our vigilant investgators that the culprit for the murder of 3 political candidates of donsol is peter joemel advincula aka Bikoy,” PRO V Regional Director Police Brigadier General Jonnel Estomo said.

“Case solve na po,” he added.

The victims were identified as Helen Advincula Garay, incumbent municipal councilor of Donsol, Sorsogon; and Karren Averilla and Xavier Alim Mirasol who were both were aspirants for councilor of Donsol in Eleksyon 2022.

Advincula was named suspect in the case after a certain Lalaine Herrera went to the police to report an attempted abduction allegedly perpetrated by him.

Advincula earlier claimed to be “Bikoy,” the hooded man who appeared in a viral video linking members of the Duterte family to the illegal drug trade.

He was also accused of making "untruthful statements" under oath when he said lawyers Jose Manuel "Chel" Diokno, Lorenzo "Erin" Tañada III, and former Supreme Court spokesman Theodore Te were part of a plot seeking to oust Duterte.

He later on renounced this accusation and claimed he was just acting upon orders from the Liberal Party. —Giselle Ombay/KG, GMA News
