70 houses damaged by Maring in La Union receive new roofs from GMA Kapuso Foundation
A total of 70 houses damaged by Severe Tropical Storm Maring in La Union received new roofs from the GMA Kapuso Foundation under the "Silong Kapuso Project."
According to a "24 Oras" report, Monday, among the beneficiaries was Lucrecia Ramirez, who personally experienced the onslaught of the storm.
Ramirez said due to strong rain and wind, the roof of their house was swept away. Thankfully, the few ones she tied with a rope stayed put.
She had been worrying that she will be celebrating the holidays without a proper living space. The GMA Kapuso Foundation came to her rescue by providing new galvanized iron sheets.
Aside from renovating their homes, the foundation also gave the beneficiaries grocery packs for the upcoming festivities.
The GMA Kapuso Foundation is accepting donations through bank deposits, Cebuana Lhuillier, Shopee, GCash, Pay Maya, Zalora, Mega Mart, Globe Rewards, Metrobank credit card, and Lazada.
