Manila declares half-day gov't work on Dec. 24, Dec. 31, 2021

The Manila city government has announced that work on December 24 and 31 for its employees will only be half day to allow them to prepare for Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno made known the half-day work suspension in an executive order issued Wednesday.

Under the order, work in all government offices in Manila will be suspended from 1 p.m. onwards on December 24 and December 31.

Excluded in the suspension are personnel in offices involved in frontline services which include peace and order, public services, traffic enforcement, disaster and risk reduction management, health and sanitation.

"The suspension of work in the national government offices and private companies holding office in the City of Manila is left to the discretion of their management and/or heads of offices," the order states.—Consuelo Marquez/LDF, GMA News
