All Mindanao transmission lines affected by Odette are ready - NGCP
The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has announced that all the transmission lines in Mindanao that were affected by the onslaught of Typhoon Odette have been restored.
The NGCP, in an announcement on social media, said the Placer-Madrid 69kV transmission line has been fully restored a day ahead of target schedule.
This means that the transmission lines in the franchise areas of Surigao del Norte Electric Cooperative, Inc. (SURNECO), Siargao Electric Cooperative, Inc. (SIARELCO), and Surigao del Sur Electric Cooperative, Inc. (SURSECO).
"With this development," the NGCP added, "all lines affected by Typhoon Odette in Mindanao are available."
The NGCP is a privately owned corporation that operates, maintain, and develop the state-owned power grid.
In a separate post, the company said one of the biggest challenges in restoring power in the provinces affected by the typhoon was the clearing operation.
"Mga natumbang malalaking puno at malalim na baha ang hinaharap ng mga linemen bago makapagumpisa sa pagkukumpuni ng mga nasirang linya. (Linemen had to deal with the large trees that were uprooted and deep floodwaters before they can start repair work on damaged power lines)," the NGCP said.
Surseco - 1, meanwhile, announced an emergency power interruption at 5:25 p.m. on Tuesday for Feeder 6 (Bahi and Campbangang) to allow repairs on a damaged jumper. -- BAP, GMA News
