Boracay requires negative RT-PCR test anew
Boracay-bound tourists will now be required to present a negative RT-PCR test result starting January 9, the Aklan provincial government said.
According to a “24 Oras” report on Thursday, tourists will be required to present a negative RT-PCR test result following the rise of COVID-19 infections in the country.
The provincial government said it also received reports of tourists visiting the island even if they tested positive for COVID-19.
Last November 2021, tourists visiting Boracay Island were no longer required to present a negative RT-PCR test as long as they are fully vaccinated against the viral disease.
The Aklan provincial government also returned the curfew in the island from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
