Over P15-M marijuana farms destroyed in Kalinga —PNP
The Philippine National Police (PNP) on Wednesday said authorities have destroyed three marijuana plantations worth more than P15 million in Tinglayan, Kalinga over the weekend.
In a statement, PNP chief General Dionardo Carlos said they conducted clearing operations in Quadrant 1, Butbut Proper on February 27, and on February 28.
Destroyed were 15,000 marijuana stalks; 30,000 grams of dried leaves; 80,000 dried seeds; 70,000 grams of powdered seeds, and 34,000 pieces of fully-grown marijuana plants worth P15,975,000.
The three plantations cover 5,500 square meters of land.
No cultivator was apprehended during the operation, according to the PNP.
Carlos commended the authorities for the operation as they continue their collaboration in eradicating marijuana in the mountains of Cordilleras. —LBG, GMA News
