Kit Thompson out on bail, says Tagaytay police chief

Police on Monday afternoon released actor Kit Thompson after he posted bail in connection with charges related to injuries suffered by his girlfriend and her alleged detention.

Tagaytay chief of police Police Lt. Col.  Rolando Baula told GMA News Online that Thompson was released at 5 p.m.

“He was released in good and physical condition. He bailed for P72,000,” Baula said.

Police arrested Thompson on March 18 after authorities received reports about an altercation between a couple inside a hotel room in Tagaytay City.

The PNP on March 19 filed a complaint against Thompson for violation of Section 5 (a) of the Republic Act 9262 or the Anti-Violence against Women and Children Act.

“We do not condone any act of violence, especially against women. As we celebrate Women's Month, we couldn’t stress enough the inherent role of the PNP to protect the rights of every woman in society,” the PNP said in a statement.

“We vow to conduct a full, fair and transparent investigation,” it added. —NB, GMA News
