P9M worth of 'shabu' seized in Davao City buy-bust op —PNP

Anti-drug operatives seized around P9 million worth of suspected shabu, and arrested a suspect during a buy-bust operation in Davao City on Saturday, police reported on Sunday.

In a Facebook post, the PNP said the suspect identified as Arnulfo Ferraren Sefuntes alias ‘Tata’, 47, a resident of the city's Fatima Village, Bajada, Barangay 19-B. was arrested during the anti-drug operation.

Sefuntes is 4th top drug personality in the Davao region (Region 11), and is considered a high-value target (HVT).

According to the police report, Regional Special Operations Group 11, together with law enforcement agencies, conducted the buy-bust operation at about 12:08 a.m. in R. Castillo St., Barangay Lapu-Lapu, Agdao, Davao City.

Sefuntes yielded sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 57 grams with a street value of P9.12 million.

“Our focus is to further intensify the campaign against illegal drugs and to improve the quality of operations where policemen should focus more on High-Value Targets and higher grams of drugs confiscated per operations,” Philippine National Police Chief Police General Dionardo Carlos said.

Sefuntes is presently under the custody of Sta. Ana police for the filing of appropriate charges in court. —LBG, GMA News
