At least 36 people have died due to the onslaught of tropical cyclone Agaton in the city of Baybay in Leyte.
Baybay was the site of landslides that hit on Monday amid heavy rains brought by the weather disturbance.
According to the situational report of the City Disaster Risk-Reduction and Management Office, 27 persons are missing and 105 have been injured.
It added that landslides hit barangays Gaas, Villa Solidaridad, Kan-ipa, Amguhan, Punta, Bunga, Mailhi, Bubon, and Gacat.
The casualties were reported from the barangays of Mailhi (14), Kantagnos (4), Bunga (7), Maypatag (2), VSU (2), Candamdam (1), San Agustin (3), Zone 21 (1), Caridad (1), and Can-ipa (1).

A rescuer of the Philippine Coast Guard was also among those who have been hurt, it said.
The status on the ground continued to improve as intermittent moderate rains with moderate and light winds prevailed over the region.
Flooding is still expected in all low-lying barangays, the CDRRMO said, as the water levels in major rivers in the area slowly subside.
All roads in the city are also now passable along with the Tacloban-Ormoc-Baybay road. The Tacloban-Abuyog-Mahaplag-Baybay Road, however, remains inaccessible.
Electrical power, telecommunication lines, and water supplies have also been restored.
Around 4,132 families were evacuated, meanwhile, with 1,932 from northern barangays, 775 from eastern barangays, 290 from southern barangays and 1,135 from Poblacion barangays.
The CDRRMO further said search and rescue operations continue in the affected localities. —NB, GMA News
