One gate open at Magat Dam as water nears spilling level —PAGASA

Magat Dam had one gate open on Saturday morning to release water, PAGASA said.

At 6 a.m., the dam, which straddles Ifugao and Isabela provinces, had one gate open at one meter, according to data from the dam operating and managing agencies.

The dam's reservoir water level (RWL) was at 191.06 meters, a 0.17 meter increase over the 190.89 RWL on Friday at 6 a.m.

Saturday's level is nearing the spilling level or normal high water level (NHWL) of Magat Dam at 193 meters.

PAGASA said the northeasterly surface windflow is affecting extreme northern Luzon on Saturday.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to the northeasterly surface windflow and localized thunderstorms. —KG, GMA News
