Policemen in Imus, Cavite have rescued a one-year-and-five-month-old baby who was sold by her own mother for P2,500.

According to Emil Sumangil’s report on “24 Oras”, the 21-year-old mother sought the help of the authorities days after the transaction.

Reynald Afable said.

(She said she regretted what she had done. Her problems forced her to do it.)

Police traced suspect Jane Mapa on social media but she refused to cooperate.

After posing as Angelique’s mother, cops were able to save the baby and arrest the adopter who is now facing raps for alleged violation of the Child Abuse Law and  Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act.

Baka po abutin pa ng 10 years,” she added.

Afable advised individuals who want to be parents to undergo the legal process of adoption. -Sundy Locus/NB, GMA News
