Cops hunt down suspects behind Malolos acid attack

Authorities are now looking for the riding-in-tandem supposedly behind the acid attack against two victims in Malolos, Bulacan.

CCTV footage showed the suspects trailing behind sisters Franchesca and Janna Clemente while they were walking around their neighborhood on Sunday evening.

One of the suspects eventually ran in their direction and splashed acid on them before jumping back to their getaway vehicle.

Franchesca sustained burns on her face and the right side of her body.

(My older sister was able to run away while screaming. I stayed for at least 30 seconds because I felt my eyes burn.)

(I can’t think of…I rarely go out of our house. This is so random because first of all, why us?)

Janna echoed her sentiments and said: “Di ko rin po lubos maisip na talagang mangyayari sa amin yun. Kaya sobrang shocked din po kami.”

(I never thought such a thing would happen to us. We were shocked.)

Both sisters are now in stable condition after receiving treatment.

Members of their family, however, are crying for justice as they appeal to the suspects to surrender themselves to the police.

Marilou Marcelino, Franchesca’s mother-in-law, said.

(We can't imagine someone can even do this. Whoever you are, please surrender yourself.  We didn't do anything wrong to you.)—Sunday Locus/LDF, GMA News
