77 Lake Sebu residents brought to hospital due to suspected food poisoning at rally

At least 77 residents in Lake Sebu, South Cotabato were brought to the hospital after an alleged food poisoning incident on Sunday.

The residents — both children and adults — ate at a political rally then suffered from vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach pains, according to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, a report on Unang Balita said on Monday.

The local government has given assistance to the affected residents in the form of medicines and dextrose.

Authorities are still determining which of the dishes the residents ate may have caused the suspected food poisoning. —KG, GMA News
