Cebu City records more than 700 dengue cases, 11 deaths

Aside from COVID-19 cases, health authorities in Central Visayas are also monitoring a spike in the number of dengue cases in Cebu City, according to a report on "24 Oras."

The Department of Health on Central Visayas (DOH-7) recorded more than 700 dengue cases from January up to May 7 this year. The figure is the highest in Central Visayas.

There are 11 dengue-related deaths recorded by the health department.

Contact tracers in Cebu City, aside from searching for COVID-19 cases, have also been tasked to search and destroy breeding places of mosquitoes.

Health authorities advise the public to follow the 4S anti-dengue program. Namely: Search and destroy, Self protection, Seek early consultation, and Support fogging. -- BAP, GMA News
