Single mother in Bulacan found strangled, possibly raped


A single mother was choked to death and possibly raped in San Miguel, Bulacan, according to the report of Emil Sumangil in "Saksi."

Regine Sebastian, 30, a businesswoman was found dead on Sunday afternoon with bruises in different parts of the body, the cable of a cellphone charger wrapped around her neck, wearing an upper garment but no underwear.

The witness to the crime is her 10-year-old child.

The suspect has been identified as "Pipoy," the victim's former boyfriend.

The CCTV captured the suspect as he entered the house of the victim and when he left.

He was arrested by the police but he denied the charges against him.

Police Col. Jordan Santiago, San Miguel Police chief, said they found in the cellphone of the suspect the timeline of events, chat, and pictures.

"Kaya sa circumstances po, siya lang po yung talagang suspect," Santiago said.

Authorities are waiting for the results of tests to determine whether the victim was raped.

The police are also checking whether the victim was also robbed because jewelry worth P350,000 is missing.

The suspect is facing a murder charge.

The child witness, meanwhile, will undergo counseling. -- BAP, GMA News
