Missing 24-year-old found dead in Bulacan

An industrial engineer who was reported missing some days ago was found dead on Tuesday, July 5 in a grassy area near the Guiguinto-Malolos border in Bulacan.

According to Emil Sumangil’s report on “24 Oras” on Wednesday, the victim was identified as 24-year-old Princess Diane Dayor, a resident of Barangay Tabang in Guiguinto.

Philippine National Police Bulacan provincial director Police Colonel Charlie Carbadilla said it was possible that the strap of Dayor’s handbag was used by the suspect to strangle her.

“This is a possible incident of robbery and homicide. But it could also be not dahil ‘yung personal belonging niya tulad ng bag at jewelries ay nandoon lang. Ang nawawala lang kasi ay ‘yung cellphone at wallet,” Carbadilla said.

(This is a possible incident of robbery and homicide. But her personal belongings such as bags and jewelry were still there. The only things missing were the cellphone and wallet.)

The family of the victim said they last saw Princess before she set out for work on Saturday, July 2.

“’Yun ang nag-iisa kong kayamanan, kinuha pa nila. Walang ginawa ‘yung anak ko, trabaho-bahay lang ‘yun,” Jacquelyn Dayor, the victim’s mother, said.

“Hindi yun marunong umalis nang hindi nagpapaalam. Gusto ko ng katarungan.”

(She’s my only treasure and they took her. My daughter did not do anything, she only went to work or stayed home. She never left the house without informing us. We want justice.)

“Hahanap kami ng hustisya. Kung sino ka man, tandaan mo yan, hahanapin ka namin,” Princess’ aunt Catherine Dayor added.

(We will seek justice. Whoever you are, remember that we will find you.)

The investigation is ongoing. Authorities, however, have not yet identified a suspect. — Mel Matthew Doctor/BM, GMA News
