Magnitude 5.1 quake hits Suyo town, Ilocos Sur

A magnitude 5.1 earthquake struck the town of Suyo in Ilocos Sur early Thursday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.

The earthquake, which was tectonic in origin, occurred at 2:43 a.m. with a depth of 10 kilometers.

Intensity II was also felt in Bangued, Abra.

There are no damage expected but aftershocks may be felt in the area, PHIVOLCS said. -- BAP, GMA News
