Nine road projects were completed to improve connectivity in the towns of Jaen and Rizal in Nueva Ecija, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said on Wednesday.

DPWH Regional Office 3 Director Roseller Tolentino said several barangays in Jaen, Nueva Ecija, including Dampulan, Pakul, San Pablo, San Vicente, and Santo Tomas were connected to the town’s major road sectors due to the completion of the road projects.

“With 1.95 kilometers of newly-paved roads, residents now experience better connectivity in their communities that used to have unpaved rough roads [that] are susceptible to becoming muddy during heavy rains,” the DPWH said.

Meanwhile, farmers of barangays Aglipay, Casilagan, General Luna, and Maligaya in Rizal town are now benefiting from the 2.02 kilometers of concreted roads worth P19.3 million, the department said.

"Aside from giving a big boost [to the] agricultural economy, the paved roads also ease access to basic services such as health, education, and trade in goods and services in and around the towns,"  it added. —VBL, GMA News
