Authorities have seized more than P1 million worth of suspected illegal drugs at Bredco Port's ro-ro (roll on/roll off) passenger terminal in Bacolod City, Luisito Santos reported Thursday on Super Radyo dzBB.

Citing information from the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), the report said authorities also arrested a passenger who was alleged of possessing illegal drugs.

The passenger reportedly underwent a K9 inspection before boarding the vessel, but refused to let their bag be inspected.

This prompted personnel of PCG to be suspicious and forcibly opened the passenger’s bag.

Upon opening the bag, about 150 grams of shabu worth P1.02 million were found.

The passenger is now in the custody of the Philippine National Police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency for proper disposition and investigation. — Mel Matthew Doctor/BM, GMA News
